on the mailing list. We continue to break records with increasing
membership.
Old Business
Marriage Index Vol 9 is completed with 11,000+ names.
Volume one is in process. The Church Memorial Project continues
with St. Peters completed now.
The Charter Change was made essentially making formal
meetings held every three months with informal meetings taking place
the other months.
We did not eliminate the position of VP, but it does
remain empty. We will continue to attempt to fill the position.
In the meantime, Donna Vaughn, in the role of Membership Chairperson,
will arrange for and announce meetings.
We will have a booth at the Victorian Stroll. To date,
Lizette, Kris, Noreen and Jan have volunteered to work the booth.
Kris will register the group and arrange for a raffle.
Newsletters are still on hold pending a committee
to create them.
New Business
Donna Vaughn has suggested a page on Facebook for
the group. Attendees agreed that this would be a good avenue to
pursue to advertise the group and perhaps increase membership.
External hard drives for Bill and Jeanne’s laptops
were discussed and agreed upon. This will give TIGS more storage
for transcription projects.
At the suggestion of Lizette Strait, the December
informal gathering will serve as a benefit for the local food pantries.
Attendees are asked to bring non-perishable items to the meeting
and Mike Gilligan has volunteered to see that the donations reach
a local food pantry.
Other Business
The raffle at the Victorian Stroll should be beneficial
as a fund raiser.
The group agreed upon the Troy Brewing Company for next month’s
informal gathering. The food and service is deemed excellent. The
next meeting will be held as an informal meeting on Thursday November
19th. Tim Stone has agreed to do a presentation on his research
into his family history at the November meeting.
