Informal Gathering November 19th, 2009

TROY IRISH GENEALOGY SOCIETY

This was the first of our Informal Gatherings since the change to our Charter allowing for formal Business meetings in Jan, April, July and October of each.

Present were Debbie, Mike and Katie Gilligan, Lizette Strait, Richard Boland, Noreen Iacobucci, Jan and Bob Sullivan, Bill and Cathy McGrath, Jeanne Keefe, Ron and Donna Vaughn, Mimi and Vince Nicotina, Joyce Musco and Tim Stone.

A quick update was given to the members by Kris Ayotte, TIGS President. The group was informed that Brad Miter e-mailed Kris that we currently have 222 members on our mailing list.

Kris informed the group that the Saratoga Victorian Stroll was being held on 12/3/09 and several members would be participating and if anyone else wanted to participate to please contact Kris for details.

Kris asked for volunteers to man the table at Troy’s Victorian Stroll on 12/6/09 and also asked the group to reimburse her the $35 fee to participate.

A reminder was given to the group to please bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to a local food pantry. Mike Gilligan will collect and see that the items are donated to a location in need.

The evening was then turned over to Tim Stone who gave a presentation of his discoveries while researching his family tree, including a kinship with Benedict Arnold.

Everyone enjoyed Tim’s presentation, informal conversation and our meals, despite the fact that we were located in a public, very noisy section of the restaurant.
