A motion was made by Kris Ayotte and seconded by Frank Ryan to approve the minutes of the February 21, 2008 meeting. The motion passed. The minutes will be published on the TIGS website.

REPORTS
There were no reports from the President, Vice President or Secretary. Cathy McGrath, Treasurer, reported to Donna that the current balance is $955.55. Many members are remitting their 2008 membership dues.

There was no report from Jeanne Keefe, Webmaster, who is currently out of town for her work. Lizette Strait, Listowner, reported that there are 201 list members.

Frank Ryan noted that it is possible to access the Troy Record on the internet and he will send the web address to the TIGS list.

OLD BUSINESS
Kris Ayotte reported on the April trip to Ireland. She distributed travel packets to those who were present who are going on the trip. Everyone is looking forward to the trip.

NEW BUSINESS
T-shirts and tote bags are available at the local meetings and $93.77 has been raised.

Lizette Strait mailed the newsletter today to Donna who said it looks very good. When Jeanne returns to town, Donna will send it to her for dissemination. Three members marched in the Albany St. Patrick’s Day parade but several members were out of town. Donna is still requesting fundraising ideas members may have. Donna looked into inviting a local genealogist as a possible speaker; however, he declined. Donna noted that there is a new Irish shop on Campbell Avenue that stocks some interesting Irish items – primarily clothing.

The informational report on the 501C3 by Mary Beth Brown was tabled until she is able to attend a meeting.

There are seven sites in New York State where it is possible to access Department of Health vital records. One of those sites is the Crandall Library in Glens Falls.

The process of nominating officers for next year will take place at next month’s meeting. The positions of Vice President and Listowner will be vacant; nominations may be made for any office.

Lizette asked if anyone would be interested in taking a trip to NARA in Pittsfield, Massachusetts on one of the Saturdays that they are open. She suggested that members carpool and spend the day at the archives. Donna will be visiting the Library in Middlebury, Vermont to see what information she can locate in her personal genealogy work.

The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 10, 2008 at the Red Front Restaurant at 6:30 PM.

ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made by Frank Ryan and seconded by Kris Ayotte to adjourn the meeting. The motion was approved and the meeting adjourned at 7:20 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
Kathleen Brearton, Secretary
