Minutes from t he regular monthly meeting of the Troy Irish Genealogy Society was held Thursday June 18, 2009 at the home of member Lizzette Strait .

Kris Ayotte, President called the meeting to order at 7:35PM.

REPORTS

President Kris Ayotte thanked Lizette Strait for offering her home for this meeting.

Secretary- A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes of the May 21 meeting. The motion passed. All in favor. The minutes have been published on the TIGS website.

Treasurer- Former Treasurer Cathy McGrath  reported that the current balance was $1962.54 with 29.50 in the petty cash account. There are 89 paid members. Richard Boland motions to accept the Treasurers report Kay Brearton seconds. All in favor.

List Administrator- - Brad Miter has reported there are 210 list members.

OLD BUSINESS

Election of Officers- Completed. Kris will bring vote count next meeting

Perennial Plant Sale- A total of $544.16 was made in the plant sale –expenses were $31.84  Tom McGrath has graciously offered to again have the plant sale next year at his business, Tipperary Trading at Tara on Brunswick Road. It was suggested to give him an honorary membership in TIGS. Andy Haslack donated a dozen plants. The winner of the raffle was Joan Grunwald of Averill Park. Jan suggested  improvements for next year; count plants, label using colors, take pictures etc.

Marriage Index Project – Bill McGrath reports Volume 8 is online, Jeanne Keefe worked hard to get them online and there are now 3200 more names. Bill sent notices to 32 websites about the additions. Bill and Kay Brearton will start Volume 9 soon. Volume 10 ends the project. The St Agnes Cemetery Project will be next.

Church Memorial Database – Kay Brearton has a CD of the recently closed Troy churches: St. Williams, St. Pauls, St. Peters, St Francis de Sales. She will submit churches to the website one at a time.

Founders Hill Project- (also called St Agnes Cemetery project) Bill McGrath and Jeanne Keefe are working on 2 books. Dates have been entered & proof read, 80 pages out of 149 have been completed.

Troy Hudson River Quadricentennial Celebration- Further discussion on whether we want to set up a table at the event.

Charter Change Committee- Jeanne Keefe and Kris Ayotte are working on it .


NEW  BUSINESS

Ireland/Scotland - any interest in a trip? Kris Ayotte will continue pursuing if there is.

Transfer of responsibility to new secretary and treasurer completed.

OTHER  BUSINESS

Fundraising and future meeting places- Discussion of where to meet. Jan will call Browns Brewing  on River Street.

ADJOURNMENT  

A Motion was made by Bill McGrath  and seconded by Kay Brearton to adjourn. All in favor, meeting adjourned at 8:15 PM
