Minutes for the April TIGS meeting

TIGS President Kris Cooney-Ayotte called the meeting to order
at 6:45. Brad Miter reported there are 240 people on the TIGS
mailing list.
No treasurer report
Donna Vaughn reported there were 175 people on Face book
Bill McGrath, TIGS Project Coordinator reported on:
1. Troy Newspaper Project.
- Now working on 44 years of records for the Troy Daily Whig.
Records cover years 1834 to 1878. Transcribing & proofreading
already done on years 1834 to 1878 which will be the end of that
paper.
- St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy interment records in Book covering
years 1900-1910 is almost finished.
- Book 2 & 3 of St. Mary's Cemetery records are scanned.

- Another newspaper being worked on is the West Troy Advocate.
There will be a lot of posting on the Civil War deaths of local
people. TIGS member, Peter Reilly, is heading up this project.
The May 19th meeting will be held at the CAC. The former Woodside
Presbyterian Church. The meeting will start with a tour of the
art center at 6:00.
A motion was made and seconded to make a $50 donation to the CAC.
A trip to Scotland to discussed for next April. Kris is looking
into the arrangements.
The new slate of officers to be put to ballot is:
Gerry Sherry – President
Tim Stone – Vice President
Open slot - Secretary
Lizette Strait – Treasurer
At the June meeting, Donna Vaughn will do a presentation on Genealogy
Research.
A motion to close the meeting was made by Dick Boland and seconded
by Donna Vaughn.
