In the absence of Cathy McGrath, Treasurer, Bill McGrath reported a current balance of $995.55 with 56 paid members. There are 43 members from last year who have not yet paid dues for the current year. There were some people who paid for more than one year and some who made donations.

Bill McGrath hopes to begin scanning Volumes 6 and 7 of the Rensselaer County Marriage Index which contains approximately 8,000 names. Bill asked for volunteers and a request will be posted on the website.

OLD BUSINESS

Kris Ayotte explained that the trip to Ireland will take place in one week. She provided some details about the trip.

Donna reminded everyone that orders may be placed at any meeting for tote bags and T-shirts. She thanked Lizette for handling the recent newsletter and there has been much positive feedback about the latest issue. Donna is still requesting fundraising ideas.

NEW BUSINESS

Donna is waiting for a report from Mary Beth Brown regarding the feasibility of becoming a 501C3 organization.

The slate of candidates was reviewed by Donna. Currently there are two offices that are vacant; i.e., List Administrator and Vice President. Information regarding nominations and voting will be put out on the list.

While speaking with a representative of the Tri-City ValleyCats, Kris Ayotte was asked if the Society would be interested in having a table at Irish Night at the Joe Bruno Stadium this summer. The members agreed that it would be a good idea.

The next meeting will be held at the Red Front Restaurant on May 15, 2008 at 6:30 PM.
